Most believers hold fast to the truth that God never changes. He has no need to change. He was perfect before this world was created, is perfect now, and He will be perfect when the world comes to an end.

We also know (from His Holy Word) that there are many things that God is on record for either loving or hating...

And no matter the covenant, God never changes.

So wouldn't the prudent person - the wise person - the person who wishes to get along with The One and Only God - be well advised to learn what it is that God either loves or hates - and either DO or AVOID those things accordingly?

What part of this logic are we missing?

Let me boil it down for you.

If The One who never changes hated a particular behavior in 1500 BC (about the time when the law was given), then you can bet He still hated that behavior in 33 AD (about the time when He made the atonement for our sins). And guess what? He hates that behavior even now. He will forgive anyone who truly repents and turns from those things that He hates - but this act of kindness and forgiveness is by no means an indicator of an ambivalent attitude toward sin.

God NEVER changes. He has no need.

Paul was clear on this matter - "...and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead - Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath..." Thes. 1:10

The COMING WRATH. Wrath did not die on the cross with Jesus - it looms before us still. Jesus died there in our stead to save us from what is yet to come.

God never changes. His Gospel never changes (though wicked men do yeoman's work attempting to change it).

Do your best to discover what He loves - and DO IT.

Do your best to discover what He hates - and AVOID IT.

Repent. Turn from evil. Turn to Jesus and you will be saved.

Your brother and servant in Christ Jesus our Lord,
