Brothers and Sisters,



When juxtaposed viewpoints come to bear on a serious matter, anyone who wishes to engage in the fray must eventually pick a side.  Any other conclusion than this is meaningless blather meant to give an appearance of "neutrality", while boasting a position to which no reasoning human can truly lay claim.



Neutrality is a bastion of the hypocrite.



Thus the first question - when did the gutless coward become a role-model in America?  Throughout history, the man or woman who was afraid to take a stand on a serious issue was correctly labelled a coward.  This usually described those who were so concerned with maintaining appearances that they were unable to speak the truth or stand on actual convictions.



And how was the coward elevated to be given the esteemed designation, "moderate"?  By definition, to moderate is the act of standing in the middle of a fight lending an appearance of neutrality - remaining unmoved or "above the fray" until the bitter end.  We are told to believe that these individuals are either too intelligent to be bothered with the matter, or "too kindhearted" to hurt feelings on one side or the other. Their anthem is often "can't we just get along?", but the truth is that either their motives are questionable (as we see in our liberal media), or their spines are perilously flaccid.

With this in mind, to my point....



Jesus told us in stark terms that anyone who is ashamed of Him (or his Gospel) will receive that same treatment before the Throne of Judgment when we kneel to make an account of our lives.  He spoke for centuries through prophets, apostles, and with His own lips - outlining in great detail the things that are wicked and will result in eternal damnation if indulged unrepentant.  He was unambiguous about these things, as clearly articulated in Matthew chapters 5-7.



Our King pulled no punches.



Brothers and sisters - the fight is on and your King is engaged.  He has raised the holy standard upon which our nation was built.  His opposition in this debate as usual gravitates from the left - demanding "tolerance" for all forms of depravity while sequestering the free speech of anyone who might dare speak out against such wickedness.



And here is the problem for anyone who would moderate God's position and stand in the middle...



There is no middle - He has disallowed it entirely.



Our God has made it clear that His position is "all or nothing".  Either you are with Him all the way, or you are opposed to Him and His Gospel.  You cannot love the things of this world and still love God - the apostles made this clear throughout the New Testament.  He is a jealous God, and His Holy Son did not suffer the most brutal death ever endured only to turn a blind eye to evil behavior.  The cross was not endured to make sin more palatable, but to cleanse us of sin and free us from it entirely.



There's no way out - if you love Him you must join the fight and YOU MUST STAND.  Stand against what, you ask?  Although there are many incendiary topics inflaming national debate as the Body of Christ is constantly assaulted, try this one on for size:



Homosexuality - listed from God's own lips as "detestable" :



“‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.'" (Leviticus 18:22)



Was this behavior later deemed permissible under the New Covenant as some have suggested?  Not hardly, as Paul outlined very clearly in Romans:



"Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another.  Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error." (Romans 1:26-27)



As you see, a clear and unambiguous standard has been raised by our God on an issue that has effervesced into one of the most politically charged topics seen in recent decades.  The momentous issue of Gay marriage is everywhere - on everyone's mind - and is officially the #1 topic of interest among people aged 18 to 36.



Our culture is in decay and our very lives are under attack.



Brothers and sisters we did not write the Word of God, and we have neither the latitude to change its message nor the permission moderate its tone.  The Bible says what it says and any other Gospel is false.



Gay marriage is an abomination, and any church condoning the practice (or allowing it in their midst) will be severely judged.



For sure, there is healing and forgiveness for anyone who will turn from that sin and repent - renouncing the lifestyle as many have.  But the homosexual (like all other sinners) must turn to Jesus and repent if he/she wishes to be saved from eternal damnation.  

 

Our King is not politically correct and truth stands on its own.



Granted, this truth is not likely to make you very popular among your unbelieving friends - might even get you "unfriended" on FaceBook.  FAR better that silly fate than to face the King of Glory knowing that you were too cowardly to take a stand with Him in the interest of Holiness.



This is but one of many cancers that is currently eating away at the national edifice - eroding our standards and plunging the hearts and minds of our young into total depravity.

 

The line in the sand was drawn long ago by the Eternal One. You will pick a side whether you like it or not...



Choose wisely.
